Gratitude
Dear Reader,
As you might be taking a break from thoughts about the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, perhaps we can take a break together by pondering the things we’re grateful for. Gratitude is a highly effective method for shifting our vibration (into a positive one) and subsequently this vibration influences everything we touch, create and feel! The more we feel gratitude, the better our lives feel. It's a radically simple notion! In this self-care and self-love journey it's about feeling better, feeling more love, for ourselves, and others!
So as we invite in the practice of gratitude… as a daily on-going practice, let's start right now.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you read the question: what are you grateful for?
Invite yourself to simply ponder another 3 points of gratitude.
Notice what they are… and notice how it becomes easier to think of these 3. As we practice gratitude, there is a natural momentum that takes place. There are many things to be grateful for once we start looking for them.
Coming back to Memorial Day, an American holiday honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military, to uphold our countries freedoms, and to allow us to be creators of our own experience, perhaps, we can feel some gratitude for this?
And then there are our bodies: our senses, our hands, our breath, our lungs, our eyes for reading this, and our skin! Our amazing skin…. Wow, what an organ… taking care of our skin is so important and often overlooked. In this journey of self-care you get to know me as a champion for skin care!
Over the long sunny weekend, here are 5 simple ways to stay safe while having fun!
Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible during the peak sun hours or seek shade during this part of day.
Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen — with an SPF of at least 30 — containing both UVA and UVB protection. This is my favorite! (p.s. There’s a great Memorial Day promo right now aka a free gift)
Reapply sunscreen frequently, especially if you perspire or you've been swimming.
Wear protective clothing while in the sun.
Last but not least…UV-protective sunglasses. UV enters the eyes as well.. And our retinas are especially susceptible to UV damage. Sunglasses are also a really great way to accessorize so have fun with this one!
I’m grateful for you, dear Reader, thank you for your eyes, and hearts.
Sending love through self-care!
